Paraiso del Sol, Cabarete. Two reviews very much the same apart from one was happy with the food but the other would have liked it kept a bit warmer. Both reviewers stayed in July 06 and felt the the hotel offered a good option for anyone on a budget. The accommodation complex was lovely and well looked after. The staff were friendly and the holiday overall was good. Combined rating 3.5 out of 5.

Gran Ventana Beach Resort, Playa Dorada. Several reviews on this hotel and all but one raved about it. General comments ranged from "the staff couldn't do enough for you, the food was excellent and catered for everyone and the air con was a God send as it was so hot. The rooms are really big and of a good standard and the beach is terrific. One reviewer warned about buying excursions from touts on the beach as not everyone got what they had paid for, so best to buy them from the hotel. Another said that swimming with the dolphins at Ocean World was brilliant and that everyone should experience it.
