Akteon Village, Paphos. Stayed October 06. We wanted a weeks holiday to try and recharge our batteries and the Akteon was ideal as you could be as active or non-active as you liked. We stayed self catering but the friends we made at the hotel stayed all in and they seemed to get good value for their money. The rooms were large and comfortable with a good sized balcony and some great sea views. We enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor pools as that was as active as we wanted to be. There's a minimarket onsite but we found it cheaper to do a big shop in Paphos which can save you money. Reviewers rating: 4 out of 5.

Poseidonia, Limassol. Stayed July 06. The hotel looked a bit dated and was rather off-putting at first but the beach location, friendly staff and good food made our stay enjoyable. Friends of ours had an "inland view" room and found that the noise from the nearby shops and bars wasn't to their liking. Reviewers rating: 3 out of 5.
